Stampede Workshop led by Ben Cohen, the socially-conscious entrepreneurial superstar and co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.
This ice cream filled workshop will focus on the Stampede, an innovative grassroots campaign that harnesses the power of the 85% of Americans who realize that big money in politics has corrupted our democracy and want to do something about it. Ben will demonstrate Pete Seeger’s “Giant Seesaw Parable” which will operate throughout the GrassRoots Festival.

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has awarded the Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival a Knight Arts Challenge Matching Grant of $75,000.
Knight Foundation invests in artistic excellence, funding arts projects that engage the Knight resident communities in collective cultural experiences. They look for innovative, high-quality ideas. Grantees represent both emerging artists and organizations and the oldest and most venerable institutions. The projects all have one thing in common: they enrich and engage the communities that produce them.
