BAND OF THE DAY::: Touted as one of the great promises of Latin music Sie7e won the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist in 2011 & has been on the rise ever since! The Puerto Rican singer/songwriter draws from rock en espanol, batucada, samba, blues, salsa, pop, and reggae styles, composing songs full messages of love, humor, peace & joy. His music is beautiful & uplifting. We’re smitten.
BAND OF THE DAY::: Locos Por Juana positions itself on the daring edge between old school roots & distinctly modern sounds. The product is a dynamic fusion of Afro-Caribbean, cumbia & champeta rhythms with bi-lingual hip-hop, funk, reggaeton, & ska. It’s fast-paced, very hot, and sure to get you moving. They’ve welcomed us to their city with open arms & we’re forever grateful!

Who knows for sure, but 1 thing is definite; it’s a whole lot of fun. 5-piece string band Uproot Hootenanny‘s shows are super high energy, packed with musical talent, and sure to leave you with a smile. BAND OF THE DAY::: Zimbabwean pride & national treasure Oliver Mtukudzi is coming to the Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance!! Oliver Mtukudzi is a brilliant guitarist, vocalist & composer with a talent for writing beautiful songs that reflect on the daily life & struggles of his people. The UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Eastern & Southern Africa, Mtukudzi is revered & beloved throughout the world. We are deeply honored to have him!
BAND OF THE DAY:: If you already love bluegrass, then surely you know The Del McCoury Band, the genre’s most awarded band in the game. And if bluegrass isn’t your thing, you’re still gonna love them. The Del McCoury Band epitomizes everything we strive to present at GrassRoots; undeniable talent with deep cultural roots that transcend boundaries to win hearts & minds. What else can we even say? Del is a living legend, the band is absolutely fabulous & whether its your gonna be your 1st or 20th time seeing them, you’re gonna be blown away.
We are so excited to welcome Latin Grammy Award-winning Afro-Colombian hip-hop funk trio ChocQuibTown to the festival this year! The group incorporates a diversity of cultural influences to produce upbeat contemporary music that is sure to move everyone. Instilling unity & pride, their song ‘Somos Pacifico’ has become a national anthem for an entire generation of Colombians.
