The GrassRoots TownHall polling platform uses the D21 voting system, which instead of casting a single vote lets you vote for several things you like, and against something you don’t like. With the help of D21, we want to give YOU the opportunity to weigh in on questions about the festival as well as on local issues, where the result is consensus, not just a “yes-or-no” vote. The goal is to tap into the collective intelligence and leadership of the whole community to help solve shared problems. By creating consensus through higher participation and an innovative voting system, we can collect wisdom derived from our common priorities and values. The ability to have both “plus-votes” and “minus-votes” is the key to the recognition of problems, errors or tension points in proposals, which in typical “yes-or-no” voting can be so easily overlooked.
