Where’s the GrassRoots Van Been?

It’s official.  On New Year’s Eve there were many smiling faces throughout South Florida in anticipation of Florida becoming the 36th U.S. state to legally recognize same-sex couples (going into effect in 2015).

Members of GrassRoots sensation Donna the Buffalo were among those celebrating the ban’s lift at midnight on New Year’s Eve.  After their performance at Green Parrot in Key West, band members positioned themselves in front of the nearby courthouse to witness and congratulate some of the same-sex couples who became newlyweds that night!

Spotted on the streets of Key West was our funkadelic GrassRoots van.  Rolling around from place to place, showing some love and celebrating all of the great news coming up in 2015, including: marriage equality in Florida and our upcoming 4th annual Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival of Music, Art & Dance!  In all of the hustle and bustle, we managed to snap a photo of the van painted by DaveL conveniently parked on Duval Street in Key West – eh eh, see what we did there?

Stay tuned to our blog to check out where the GrassRoots van is going and what we’re up to!
